In Mexico, MILA Tours offers some of the “off-the beaten path” destinations.  Contact us for suggested itineraries and pricing.

The Copper Canyon located in the Sierra Madre Range in northern Mexico has a great train service running from Chihuahua to Los Mochis and vice versa.  The whole itinerary is between 3 to 5 days and clients can stop and stay in the small towns such as El Fuerte, Divisadero, Barrancas, and Creel.  More than scenery, this itinerary allows visitors to learn about the Tarahumara natives and all of the interesting history of these regions.

Mexico has a large number of Colonial Cities aptly named because of the Spanish, French, and Italian architecture used to create wonderful buildings, plazas, churches, and much more.  A suggested tour may start in Mexico City and include Puebla, Morelia, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, and many more.  The southern state of Oaxaca also boasts a beautiful colonial city – the city of Oaxaca.  Many of these cities are also known for their great food and artisan handicrafts.  Plus the history brings it all together as a wonderful destination.

Archaeology in Mexico includes the areas around Mexico City (most famous is Teotihuacan), the Zapotec and Mixtec cultures in Oaxaca, and the Mayan areas in the Yucatan including Palenque in Chiapas.  There are both large and small sites to explore and all of them give the visitor an understanding of the vast history of Mexico.
